Welcome to all. I created this page to collect information about a recent spate of claims that Republican candidate Ron Paul is racist. Racism is a horrible thing, and someone who is strongly believed to be racist has no place in our government at all, much less running the country. However, I do not believe that Ron Paul is racist. In fact, I don't even think most of those making the claim believe it. They are simply afraid of his candidacy in one way or other, and are stooping to mud slinging.
Below I will collect arguments and evidence regarding the various claims in this debate. I will ALWAYS leave all comments open and visible on all posts, unlike pretty much every site that makes the racism claims. You should ask yourself why they are afraid to have a substantive discussion.
Also note that I will be editing and adding to these posts, so they may not look the same day-to-day. I will undoubtedly make factual corrections as I am made aware of them.
An important point to keep in mind as you read:
Most of the people at DailyKos, ThinkProgress, RedState and other openly partisan blogs/sites are NOT interested in real discussion or the truth. They will support any discourse that forwards their aims. If they can throw out the racism claim and make it stick, they will do so without regard for the facts. These blogs and others often ban users or erase/hide posts. Trying to debate them on their home turf is like drinking from a fire hose. I suggest that as this site becomes more complete, one simply refer them here.
